Spanish President Pedro Sánchez visited India on October 28-29, 2024, to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties.
President Sánchez was accompanied by the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the Minister of Industry and Tourism, as well as a high-level official and business delegation. As part of his visit, he and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated the Final Assembly Line Plant for the C-295 aircraft in Vadodara, Gujarat. This facility, co-produced by Airbus Spain and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd., marks a significant milestone in Spain-India industrial collaboration and defense cooperation.
During his visit, Sánchez also engaged with business leaders at the India-Spain CEOs Forum, which brings together executives from leading Spanish and Indian companies, and took part in a Spanish-Indian business meeting. The latter, organized by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, ICEX, and CEOE, saw the participation of 150 Spanish companies and 100 Indian firms exploring opportunities for cooperation. These forums served as a platform to foster economic collaboration, enhance commercial ties, and identify new business opportunities between Spain and India.
