SUMMARY:July 1, 2025
DESCRIPTION:\n \nOn July 1st, 2025, the Indo-Spanish Chamber of Commerce (ISCC) joined the Federation of European Business in India (FEBI) for a special roundtable on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), held at the FEBI office in New Delhi. The session featured Mr. Peteris Ustubs, Director for Asia-Pacific at the European Commission’s Directorate General for International Partnerships (INTPA).\nAs IMEC’s roadmap takes shape, the discussion offered key insights into its implementation and strategic importance for EU-India relations. Mr. Ustubs highlighted IMEC’s role in fostering a sustainable, multi-modal corridor, connecting regions through roads, railways, maritime routes, and digital infrastructure to lower logistics costs and improve supply chain efficiency.\nThe initiative will also support infrastructure growth through submarine cables, energy grid linkages, and hydrogen pipelines, enhancing regional trade and global value chain integration. FEBI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting such initiatives, emphasizing that industrial engagement will be essential to making IMEC a success.\n
